Dramaturgy
About My Work
Though early in her career as a dramaturg, Siobhan's history fascination has been utilized in all kinds of projects.

Foundational Training
Ever since she was young, Siobhan has always wanted to understand the why. What has led structures to be built and why people are so invested in their upkeep.
Dramaturgy has become a way to explore those questions and share her findings as part of creating more impactful theatre.
As she spent years on her own figuring out the why's of the industry, studying as a theatrical scholar gave her the room to use her own personal fascinations for the sake of something bigger.
Putting it into Practice
After taking Theatre History and Literature with Professor John Warrick, Siobhan was given the opportunity to put the dramaturgical concepts learned in that class to practice.
Siobhan's dramaturgical debut was North Central College's Opera Workshop Performance, The Impresario }{ At the Audition.
This production, which combined Mozart's singspiel (a German form of operetta) Der Schauspieldirektor with pieces from throughout the opera and musical theatre (and even jazz) canons.
With the amount of content in the show, Siobhan was tasked recontextualizing these classic works for our modernized American production. From teaching the singers about Mozart's Rock Star Reputation to capturing the evolution of Opera into Operetta into Musical Theatre, Siobhan had a blast getting to share her various hyper fixations with others, making this a show to be remembered.
