Costume Construction

About

Siobhan is early in her construction journey, and hopes to track her journey on this page.

Sewing Machine

History

During the beginning of the Covid Lockdown, Siobhan found respite through clothing craft Youtube channels like Rachel Maksy and Micarah Tewers and fashion history channels like Bernadette Banner and Karolina Zebrowska. She bought a sewing machine, which she thought she had broken for 5 years.

In Year of Our Lord, 2025 she started restocking her sewing kit, and pulled out that old, completely fine machine and began working on some small crafts.

She wants to use this page to show off her sewing journey, and show her previous and current adventures in transforming preexisting garments

She will display her work for shows and for fun.

Dying and Distressing

Siobhan absolutely loves detail work, and got to put some of her budding skills to use while working on the world premiere of Maddie Dennis Yates' play, this is not the reunion. As hair and makeup designer, Siobhan worked with costume designer Clare Salazar to create all of the characters' looks. In order to streamline the process of transforming actor Riley Knoop into the mysterious Drowned Girl every night, Siobhan took it upon herself to dye and distress a nude bodysuit Salazar had found.

Siobhan replicated the details of her makeup design onto the bodysuit, dying it teal in her dorm bathroom and adding details with fabric markers, Texas Dirt and eyeshadow.
